Rural Canadian Mom. I love my family, my dogs, nature and food — well food maybe a little too much. We grow most of our own produce, raise our own meat, collect our own dairy and forage for fun extras. We preserve and freeze these throughout the year so that we can eat healthy. Recently diagnosed as a Type 2 Diabetic, we realized that processed and fast foods were a risk to our health. This is our journey back to REAL foods and a REAL joy of preparing and eating meals.

Darling Daughter is a lover of My Little Pony and Dr. Who. Most of the time she lives in the real world, helping mom prepare and cook delicious meals as well as making her own Bento lunches.  She prefers fresh carrots, raspberries and sushi over pizza, cookies and cake.

Join us on our journey – growing, preserving, cooking and eating real food.

Recipes, successes and exasperating failures included.
